Variance Affected objects

Hi all,

I am trying to use query builder to create a report where I can enter the variance number and return among other things the affected objects. I am pretty sure this can be done. I just can't seem to figure out the join. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Brian

Try this.

Hi Brian/Albert,

I have written the SQL that Brian was talking about. I can pull in the number, name etc. as well as the affected objects. However, I can't seem to get this to work in the Report Manager. Have you tried to do this?

Thanks,

The trick with something like affected objects is that you have to specify
what type of affected object you want to link to.

I did not look carefully at Brian's SQL, But here is an example for
objects attached to an ECR by the Relevant Request Data2 link. Other,
similar links can follow the same pattern. The Outer Join Against Change
Request in the From tab for Document will give CR's with and without links
to Documents. Without the outer join, you only get Change Requests with
links to Documents.

I only selected the CR and Doc numbers.

I ran this as HTML (with merging).

The results look like this.

You should be able to make the appropriate link and outer join for your
data (Variance and Affected Objects).
