Hi, I'm going to update Windchill, I'm at the stage of preparing the database on the target system. My scenario, the Oracle Windchill 11 database has Oracle version 12 and is installed on a different server from Windchill 11, and will be upgraded to Oracle version 19 for the database server on Windchill 12. What I want to ask:
1. In the guide that I read, before exporting to the target system if there is a difference in database version, the database export file from database 12 must first be imported into Oracle database version 19. Which means I created a new instance on a new computer for temporary database storage before exporting to the target system. Is it true?
2. The target database that I prepared for windchill 12 is a new database with a different SID with temporary storage. Is it true?
3. Finnaly, I will export the Oracle v19 database from temporary storage to the Oracle v19 target system database (Target database).is it true?
4. I read that in the Upgrade Manager process there is dbUser and dbSchema user input, what is the difference between these two names? in my scenario, which one will be dbUser and which will be schema user?
Thanks

When I did our Windchill 11 to Windchill 12 upgrade, I just installed an OOTB Windchill 12 system on new computers and the copied over the file vaults and did an import of the database dump file after deleting the PDM user of the OOTB build. Then run UpgradeManager and it will take care of the DB conversion.
