Windchill 10 WGM for Creo Schematic

Greetings all. Has anybody had any success connecting Windchill 10 WGM with Creo Schematics? We've got the WGM working with Isodraw but Creo Schematics is not cooperating. Any tips would be appreciated. We're trying this with Windchill 10 m020 and Creo Schematics 1 m010.

Thanks to the help from Tech Support we've made progress. You have to create the ECAD design in commonspace using the new ECAD wizard. Add and Check Out the design to a workspace. Launch the stand alone WWGMECAD and verify the connection to Creo Schematics. Connect to the workspace. Select the ECAD file and use RightMouseButton to Import the Creo Schematic content to the file. Now you have a Creo Schematic that you can Check In/Check Out and/or other Windchill actions. When the design is opened the file gets unpacked in the working pdm directory. We're told that Creo Schematics 2 will have built-in interface.

Hi Jim,

Were you tried/able to autocreate a part in Windchill by checking in a Creo Schematics Design

Thanks

Hassen.....typically, for us, we would not have a WTPart for the schematic since we don't purchase at that level. As far as creating WTParts, we rarely use AutoCreate. To answer your question though, I did not attempt to create a wtpart against the schematic either manually or with autocreate.

Thanks Jim

Jim-

We are having a difficult time finding the Workgroup Manager for Creo Schematic 2.0. We are still running Windchill 10.0. I found a Creo Schematic document that showed accessing the Quick Links/Software Downloads from within Windchill and installing the WGM from there. The problem is I do not have the "Windchill Workgroup Manager" in my Software Downloads tab. Our local PTC VAR is pretty inexperienced with Creo Schematic and does not seem real sure where to go from here. Any suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi ya Dale. We have updated our Windchill to 10.1 m010, our Creo Schematics to 2.0 m010. The WGM is 10.1 m010 which came from the Quick Links->Software Downloads. This combination works quite well with each other as I've stated in another post.I have an opinon that Creo Schematics 2.0 m010 will have problems working well with Windchill 10.0 WGM ?? Not sure why you wouldn't have the WGM downloads? I thought the WGM was included with the install. Perhaps the Windchill install missed a selection or configuration option? Anyway, I still believe that the 10.0 WGM won't play well with CreoScem 2.0.

Regards, Jim

After doing a little more reading it definitely looks like it would be in our best interest to upgrade our Windchill to 10.1. Will also go back and look at our Windchill install and see if the Workgroup Manager software is something that we have to toggle on. Hope all is well over there. New Philadelphia, Ohio hasn't changed much here. Have a good day, and thanks again for the input!
