Windchill Business (Cognos) reports - refresh to show edited data

We've been playing with OTB reports (e.g. for Change Request summary) quite a bit, hoping to use them with some tweaks in place of a bunch of custom jsp-based reports that we have.

One test we did was (on an OTB 10.1 install, no configurations):

- Create a change request

- Run the report (all ok)

- Edit the change request in many areas: Rename, change category, move to different context, add and remove affected data, etc.

- Re-run the report. Result: All changes to affected data are shown; all other changes are not reflected in the report.

Hmmmm...

So, Deleted java and IE cache and reran, no difference.

Put in Tech support call: C11058842. Result: Detailed instructions for updating each OTB Report to change "Use Local Cache’ from No to Yes.

Wow - Does this mean that as provided, all reports do not show the current condition of change objects? This seems unbelievable. What experience do others have on this.

Hi Mike, if I recall there is a report cache property that can be adjusted. If you open the report properties via Report Studio you should be able to adjust this.

Yes, that's what we're being told - and it appears to work.

But - We're trying to understand if it really is true that as provided:

- You run a report on workstation 1 and it reflects the current change object

- You edit the change object

- You rerun the report on workstation 1 and it does not reflect the edits

- You run the report on workstation 2 and it does reflect the edits

Surely this cannot be...
