As part of our upgrade from 9.1 M030 to 10.1, we plan on using Windchill DS in place of our Corporate LDAP.
I have had no problems getting it connected but some issues with configuriation..
We want to force the user to change their password after it has been reset useing the force-change--on-reset option. But the WindChill DS Guide states, "Windchill Environment Impact: Not supported; without modifications to your web server, this feature cannot be used".
Has anyone managed to do this from the web server or know of an alternate method?
Hi,
there is no way to do this through Windchill. Apache only checks the usernmae and password against the LDAP, but it does not understand any other response from the LDAP. I mean, WindchillDS will say to Apache that the user needs to change the password, but Apache is not able to understand this.
You can use the corporate LDAP (as Active Directory) to get this behaviour, so the user will be notified about this in the Windows session login, or develop a new tool to notify the user by mail or anything else.
