Workspace Table View in Pro/E File Open

In Intralink 3.4 you could use table displays that you created in Intralink in your Pro/E File-->Open window. This doesn't seem to be allowed in 9.1.

Selecting the Views drop-down only gives 2 choices: list & details.

I have a bunch of users that want to continue to use their Ilink 3.4 style tables views in Pro/E. Has anyone figured out if this is possible or not?

Thanks,

Andrew Mansfield

Hey Andrew,

Have you considered to use the Search-navigator in ProE?

We moved from Intralink 3.x to Windchill as well, and most of my users
try to find their old habits in the environment. The Search-navigator
is the fifth navigatortab in ProE, and is quiet fast and convenient to
find and open models and drawings, whether they are in the workspace or
not.

So, the answer to your question is no (umho), but their is a valuable
alternative.

Regards, Hugo.

I think this functionality was replaced by the workspace table HTML page
and its views.

The biggest issue is that the users find that the embedded Workspace browser is really slow and the File-->Open window isn't and has the Preview feature to quickly see what the file is.

Indeed, but building this HTML-page for large workspaces takes a
considerable amount of time. Most of my users open models and drawings
from the workspace in the embedded browser, and they complain about the
time they loose waiting for table to be rebuild. Very few adopt the
alternative of the Search-navigator tab, even after some demo and
explaination.

I think this one is more that just a matter of old habbits.. is actually
defies the general perception about "Upgrading"

We called PTC on this almost a year ago, and there is SPR1573320 still
open that says the issue will be addressed in WF5.
