Hello, We are a small company and we are trying to set up a document template for our library that includes other information besides what is out of the box solution. See attached. Can we create another attribute between Name and Location and call it Model. So when someone loads a document they can select what model the document references.
We have admin access etc.
Hi @BL_10161374
As far as i understand your sheet your question goes in direction of PTC Windchill (PLM Area). This is a Bulletin for Windchill RV&S (another tool of course name is Windchill but purpose is different ALM Area). So you would have a fast response if you post your doubt to PTC Windchill Discussion form. Or open it from below link:-
Windchill - PTC Community
Hope this helps. Feel free to always get back when you have question / doubt regarding Windchill RV&S anytime.
Vielen Dank / Many Thanks,

Hi
If you want to add attributes to your document objects you will have to modify your WTDocument definition, or create a subtype with extended attributes. It depends on your need. If you have a Test environment you would do well to test it out properly there before implementing in Production. With subtypes you can have dedicated templates for each subtype. Bear in mind attribute inheritance if you want to create non-instanciable subtypes.
Placement of the attribute in the Windchill GUI should be done with Layouts for your types.
Start here for more detailed help:
When working with different object types you may also need to consider OIRs.
Hi @BL_10161374 ,
Placement of attribute can be acheived from site --> utilities --> type and attribute management --> object type --> layouts --> Primary attributes info page layout.
Note : Changing the WTDocument layout will impact all of its childs.
