Hello All,

We plan to move to Windchill PDMLINK 12-1-2-0 from PDM Essentials 11.1.M020
This will be a fresh install from scratch on a new Windows VM

Windchill 12.1 does not have Directory Services. (WindchillDS).

How do we connect to LDAP or AD in PDMLink. Is there any document to be referred here?

It is similar to connecting to Windchill DS, however there are other considerations in upgrading

1. Does your current Windchill DS contain both regular users and administrative users?
2. If it only contains Administrative users, do you plan on creating those administrative users in AD?
   1. If not, you will need to stand up your own sourced ldap (either run unsupported DS or a tool like OpenDJ).
   2. If you plan on creating them in AD, you will still need them in WC DS until your upgrade is done, then change the admin users using xconfmanager to point to the AD accounts
3. If it contains your normal users, you will either move the users to a new ldap after upgrade  (either run unsupported DS or a tool like OpenDJ), or pull them from your enterprise AD and then use the principle reconnect utility.

 During your upgrade, follow CS337415 - this will help you properly move the administrative ldap to the database.

If your enterprise ldap uses LDAPS then you will also need to import the AD server's certificate into the Windchill java keystore
