David's info is very good...
Also worth considering is mapping via formula the exact model version (Revision and Iteration) whose geometry is shown on the drawing.

This is a good exercise to go thru:
1. Create a PRT and DRW, check both in >> A.1 for both
2. Check out the PRT, make an obvious geometry change, check back in. Now A.2 exists for the PRT.
3. New workspace.
4. Search for the Drawing and select Add to Workspace, use Latest (the default). Workspace has A.1 of the Drawing, A.2 of the PRT. Geometry shows the change.
5. New workspace.
6. Search for the Drawing and select Add to Workspace, use AS STORED. Workspace has A.1 of the Drawing, A.1 of the PRT. Geometry shows as the drawing was checked in ignoring the model change since.
7. In general, you "do development" with Latest, but "do business" AS STORED.
But - For a printed drawing outside Windchill, there generally is no way to tell what model(s) are driving the geometry displayed on the Drawing unless you have a mapping like that shown above.
