slow event manager

Hi All!
Anybody have any suggestions on how to make event manager work faster. Here is the problem: if I have any event that kicks event manager in - failed check in, name conflict e.t.c - it takes 2.5 minutes or sometimes more to open event manager. Cleared cache, removed all events to no avail. Have you seen this? Do you have a solution?

Yes, its b/c it was a large check in. The wait is it processing the
related objects for the event when all you want it the message at the
top. Smaller check in?

No, it happens even without check in. I would open event manager after I cleaned all the events out of there and it would take a few minutes to open up.

I do not think its specific to a type of event. The pause has to do
with the number of objects. It could be modified object or affected
objects. How large is the workspace? Any large family tables in the
workspace?

I have the same account cloned to the test server - same number of workspaces and objects, but it comes up reasonably fast.
