Iteration, Revision and Version

Can anybody tell me what is an interation, Revision and Version in windchill with an Example or a case study?

If an object has version A.1, it means that A is revision and 1 iteration.


Every time you make a little change (check-out and check-in operation), iteration increases of 1 (so first iteration is 2)


When you make a big change you do a revise (from A to B).
