Appearances: Can't change surface colour at the assembly level...

Hi All,

I need to be able to colour an assembly model at the assembly level, but by individual surfaces.

This is to show the assembly painted as it would be in production.

I don't want to colour each surface at a part level, but rather have this data stored at the assembly level, so a typical component can be different colours in different assemblies.

Changing the appearance in assembly level only lets you set the colour of the entire part, which is undesired behavoir.

Does anyone know how to colour individual surfaces at the assembly level to simulate paintwork?

Or does anyone know a better way to acheive the result I'm after?

Cheers,

Mike!
