Hello Pro-E People,
I could not find anything on this subject in a search, although I am sure that someone has dealt with this before.
I am work with an assembly with multiple variation that is set-up with a family table (e.i. 550.asm with 550_1, 550_2, etc). Most of the changes are small component "swaps". I have discovered that I can not use the replace command within one of the instance assemblies because it effects the generic. So I have had to suppress for that instance and re-assemble a new part to the instance, basic family table control stuff. I ran into trouble when the variation is deeper in the assembly order, say when 10 parts are tied to the part that needs to be substituted. It too has it's own family table based instances but, I have not been able to get the replace command feature to not effect the generic. Replace by family table works great for standard 1 level assemblies but since it effects the generic using this command, I need to find another way. I was hoping not to have to suppress that part and then having to re-assemble another one of each of the 10 parts again.
Please let me know if anyone has some guidence, Thanks.
