Automatic numbering update on radial pattern

I have a part that will have multiple versions.  The radial pattern of holes will change (6,8,10,etc).  There is a relation set up to update other associated features based on the pattern number value.  This is working perfectly.  The question is what is the easiest way to automatically have the number printed next to the hole automatically index up and update based on the number of pattern members?  1,2...6, ; 1,2....8; etc?
