BE CAREFUL W/PDMLINK UPGRADE

This is worth noting if...

- you are running IL 3.4 AND
- you intend to upgrade to M062 AND
- you are getting PDMLink with a ProE upgrade (from Flex pkg to Adv whatever)

DO NOT REQUEST A LICENSE FILE W/PDMLINK UPGRADE UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO TURN OFF IL 3.4.

I did that and now have a PDMLink license file that will not run IL 3.4. And I realize PDMLink does not use license files, however that did not stop PTC from generating a file that deducted the number of 3.4 seats (and shows the number of PDMLink seats, which doesn't make sense.)

PTC license mgt is maintaining that once they issue a file for upgraded software they cannot reverse it... and the kicker is we were planning to upgrade to M062 but now cannot do that since a new "SIGN2" file is necessary, but my new license file will not have all our 3.4 seats.

Our PTC sales rep is leading the charge for us so I'm hopeful it will be resolved. Hindsight is 20-20 but I also feel like there should be huge warning signs about this.

You should be able to re-install your previous license file to restore
your old functionality.

That is not right because I was still getting Pro/PDM licenses in my files less than a year ago.
Yes it took some calls to JoAnne at PTC, but she always came through with a new filw with 70 Pro/PDm seats.
