Hey everyone,
So i've got a problem and I'm really hoping someone can help, or i'll end up like a week behind in my work...
I'm using cocreate 17 PE to do some modelling for an instruction manual (i just needed the models to take some screenshots of different parts and assemblies for an outdoor pergola. I know that it would be best to be using the full version of cocreate, but my boss is hesitant to purchase it because of this creo switch , and he didn't want to buy cocreate if the whole package was changing to creo (doesn't know if you can buy creo yet, or if you buy cocreate if you get the rest of the creo software with it, etc.) but ANYWAY, to the topic at hand...
So i'm creating these models, and yesterday it was telling me i had too many parts, so I deleted a few before saving the file, and it let me save and everything (because as far as I know, i was at, or under, 60 parts) . A few minutes later, i got an error message saying the viewport froze becasue of a graphics error. Ok, that's fine, I close the software, try to reopen, and get an error message saying the model can't be loaded because I have 61 parts!
I had an idea to have someone on a cocreate user's forum open the file on their full version, delete a couple parts, and send it back to me, but apparently (as some of you may know) you can't open PE files in the full paid version. So now I've got 60 parts (or 61 apparently) modeled, saved, but completely inaccessable! is there anything I can do to fix this or am I completely screwed?
Happy to say I've figured this out, and am posting my solution for anyone who may just be starting to use cocreate and has it happen to them (because its probably the only time you'd not be able to figure it out...)
When opening cocreate/creo elements, a default P1 is added to the drawlist (along with a work plane) . If you're opening a model which has exactly 60 parts in it, you have to delete P1 before you can open it.
