Cannot select a vertex for point-on-surface constraint

Cannot select a vertex for point-on-surface constraint

We need to insert a component to an assembly.
One of the contraints needed will be point-on-surface.
The vast majority of the time, we have no difficulty doing this.

However, for a few of our assemblies, we are seeing odd behavior.

More info:

This problem is only happening on one PC. (and only a few assemblies on that PC)
We've re-installed CE Pro, and tried several graphic drivers (Quadro 3450) to no avail.
We have confirmed that point-on-surface still works with datum points, but not vertices on solids.
Until we figure our a solution, the work-around is to create a datum point on the needed vertex.

Problem solved.

Look at what I found in the user's config.pro file:

any vertex in the the assembly (any part within) or in the new component.
Nothing pre-highlights either. Selecting the surface always works as expected, but not the point/vertex.
We've played with dirreent selection filters to no avail.

Again, this affects only a few assemblies.

I found nothing about this at the PTC knowledgebase.
Anyone else seen this odd behavior?

We are using Creo Element Pro 5 (Wildfire 5) M120.
