Changing the colour of text in WF4

Hi there,

I have an assembly part which has text extrudied into it. How can i change the colour of the text surface to show it more clearly in the model?

I am using WF4 and each time I select the exturded surface it tells me it is not an assembly level quilt and will not allow colour to change.

The only way I have successfully managed to change the surface colour of the text is if it is modelled into the original part before it becomes an assembly.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to wether the surface colour of text change in an assembly? It is driving me insane..

Thanks,

Angela

Change it at the model level, picking the surfaces, or better, using the filter to gather all surfaces created by the feature id.

Angela,

you can test the following procedure:

  1. in assembly, select surfaces you want to color
  2. create a copy of select surfaces at assembly level ... CTRL+C, CTR+V
  3. add new appearance to copied surfaces (use Asm Quilts filter in Appearance Editor window)
