Collision detection in Creo 2.0?

Is there such a thing as active collision detection feature in creo in assemblies?

This feature exists in solidworks, where parts have real physical boundaries such that you cannot drag one part inside another.

Thanks,

Hello Aowei,

yes there are three main options for collision checks in assamblies:

  • Check the collision in real time during movements
    • can be enabled in the Modelproperties dialog (shown in video)
  • Check the collision on a non moving assambly
    • by the global interference analyse (shown in video)
    • or by enabling collision detection in x-sections

If the the assembly should include the collision into the movements the Cam Follower or 3D Connection Feature from mechanism design has to be used.

I hope that helps.

All the best

Hi Daniel,

I believe the collision detection setting is what I'm looking for... but is there a way to stop the parts from moving into each other instead of showing it?

Hi axu

This could help...
