Component->Cut Out Assembly issue

1.png

I'm trying to make this cut on both sides of this part. In the assembly, I added the tip piece, did the component->cut out op, and hid the piece. I then did the same thing to the other side with a mirror image of the piece, and then hid that one too.

Only it won't hide completely. You can see where one side is semi-tranparent, but it won't hide the entire part and I don't know why. It doesn't matter what side I do first, when I'm done with both, the side I did last will not hide completely. The tip pieces do not touch when assembled so there is no interference.

Any asssitance would be greatly appreciated and thank you.

Did you try to set the accuracy of your model to a lower value?

You can also try to make a cut out operation of the two tip pieces at a time (hold "CTRL"+ select the two tip pieces when selecting the reference parts)

I'm back to trying to fix this again. I can't get it to work no matter what. Now I'm getting an error "Cannot merge a part intersected by an assembly feature". I've turned this over to PTC support.
