Hey Guys,
So here is my problem, we are trying to make a piece to block an opening in a beehive (I know a strange application) and we wanted both ends to fit into the opening using compression. Basically, we want both ends of the block to be similar to a folded spring-like material so that the compression holds this block into the opening. We got this idea from support material generated in our 3d-Printer slicer program simplify3d. When it created support material for a specific part, it created a folded spring-like design that could be compressed and would spring back.
To reiterate, we need some design to hold the block in the opening using some sort of spring/compressible material.
Thanks for the help!
I couldn't think of the term earlier, but we are looking for an accordion spring
Are you trying to make a shutter with the accordion spring?
For the most part we try to help users get better at the software.
Not sure how we can help without significantly more requirements.
That sounds like the springs on my screen windows on my house. It's simply a thin strip of steel that flexes when you install it.
Ok, we figured out another solution (we are just going to wedge it in the opening for simplicity's sake). Thanks for the replies!
