Creating additional sections in a cross section 3D model view

Hello,

I have a model of an assembly that has a planer cross section showing.  I want to create an cross section thru a component now visible in the assembly.

But, as soon as I go to create the additional section, the original cross section disappears and  the parts are hidden again.

PTC says that is the functionality of Creo and I can create a surface or use a plane to "cut" the assembly in half.  I think that is just extra work, so I hide or layer off the components in the way.

Anyone else have this issue?

Thank you.

That is the way it works, as you have discovered and PTC confirmed.

I usually create a section datum or I use query select to select hidden surfaces or datums.

Would a local area section solve the problem?
