The Creo simulate computations with Creo 3 M120 requires an average of 25% more calculation time compared to the week release M100. With different Creo Simulate calculations on different computers the time difference could be proved. With the Creo Simulate M120, the logical threads / cores could not be recognized. The display shows only the physical cores present. There is an explanation for the performance Penalty??
Hardware: Dell Precision Tower 5810 XCTO - Intel Xeon Processor E5-1620 v3 (Four Core HT, 10MB Cache, 3.5GHz Turbo)
Hi,
you could report the problem to PTC Support.
MH
Hi Wolfgang,
Are you seeing your simulations losing the license and regaining it by chance?
Currently having this issue with Creo 3 M080 and Creo 4 PTC has not been able to reproduce the issue and the analysis runs much faster on their slower machines.
Thanks,
Don Anderson
No, there is no problem with the Creo licenses. The calculations are completed successfully. Only the calculation time significantly differs (+25%). Creo 3 M120 recognizes only 4 processors. M100 detects 8 - why?
SORRY, Test not correct!!!
Creo 3 M130 is wrong too:
Wolfgang,
i think it's a problem of parametric (pdf attached) Creo Parametric M060-M110:
M120 and M130: multithreading disabled

paul
Dear Paul,
sorry, I can not see any link between the article and the current problem in Creo Simulate. In Creo Simulate the calculations are carried out successfully. Only the logical processors are not recognized and used.
Comparative calculations with the Creo 3 M130 showed the same result:
- The calculations required about 20% more computing time than the M100.
- Processors have not been detected or used in the calculation.
Regards,
Wolfgang
