Creo Parametric : How to make a component drawn in assembly mode independant?

Hi everyone,

I wanted to know if anyone knows how to make a part drawn in assembly mode independant from this assembly. By that I mean unlink it from all the external references that it has and instantly transform it into internal dimensions, to make it completely scalable even if the assembly changes.

I hope I've been clear enough with that problem !

Thanks a lot

William

There is no automatic way to do this. You must manually redefine the features to only reference the part features/datums.

If you don't care about the component being parametric, you can add independent geometry feature to it and then and collapse the rest of the model into it.

You would still be able to scale it afterwards.

The collapse geometry function might work better if you only have the component in memory when you do it.

Well You can try " relation " so that parts are independent with each other by references but can be changed parameter by using relation.
