Creo Ultra Compression Technology

Technology to compress file size by 85 to 90 %

eg. An assembly file created in WF 5.0 has 100 MB size. If it is opened in creo 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0 & saved back the size remains at 100 MB.
In creo 4.0 or later when the assembly is saved the size of the assembly including all the components should be around 10 to 15 MB, which should retain all the information of master assembly/ representation.

Impact

1.  Enormous amount of cad data (several 100 GB of data )are generated every year and these data need to be managed . Companies looking for data management are very keen in reducing size of file to be managed. PLM companies using windchill ,teamcenter ,etc will choose creo than other cad vendors if file size can be compressed by 90%.

2. Creo sales will boost by 60 to 70 %

3. For Sales & Marketing this can be an unique selling point - "Creo Ultra Compression Technology"

4. If WF4.0 or WF5.0 users who are presently not under amc will move to creo later version if the above functionally is achieved.

Are you able to create a product idea for this?  The idea should be stored in the PTC Creo‌ space.  And Ryan Kelley‌, I think this discussion can also be moved over there.

This is certainly an interesting idea though.  We are not a large company.  But our vault size is currently 1.5 TB.
