We are working with huge assemblies. Those assemblies are sometimes stored in PDMLink and sometimes saved locally. We create some groups to filter out those assemblies and to visualize needed items only. Groups can be very numerous (more than 20). When stored in PDMLink, groups are shared with several users It's easy to add the same item in several groups : sometimes on purpose, sometimes by mistake. We would like a functionality that allow to quickly find out which group the selected item belongs to.
Suggestion is this one :
- select a item in the graphic area
- by a "command" or right click be able to know in which group(s) this item belongs to. Purpose is to remove this item from some group(s) if needed .
In version 4.0 of Creo View workaround is this one :
1- open each group in a dedicated view
2- "cross selected >enable all view" and select an item graphically. This item is highlighted in each view where it can be found.
3- Then, go to the filters function of the each group corresponding to the view where item is highlighted (name of views = name of groups) ... and search for the item n°.
This workaround is time consuming . The number of view as a limitation. The memory can be another limitation because it is supposed that all groups are opened in a view and 8 Gb can be reached. No massive assembly in the company.
