I am using Creo 3.0. I am trying to use the sheetmetal functions for sketched rip and unbend. I am working with cylindrical and cone shaped objects. When I use those functions, I get extra lines that look like cuts in the parts. These lines show up in the drawings and models. I am trying to figure out how to get rid of these extra items. I think I understand that they are coming from that secondary direction in the sketched rip feature, but no idea how to stop it.
For practical reasons, Creo divides all cylinder surfaces into two parts. It looks to me like the rip is in the middle of one of those parts, leaving the divided fragments on either side of the original other half. If you highlight by mousing-over a surface you can see that cylinders are discontinuous.
