Curve from Equation inside datum graph?

Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to, inside of creating a datum graph, put a "curve from equation"?

When I go to datum graph, the option for datum "curves" and then "curve from equation" is not available.

I would like to create a "datum graph" with a "curve from equation" so that I could offset from a spline, based on an equation.

I have a part shaped with a spline curve. I would like to pre-stress it the way a beam would bend (using beam bending equations) so that when it is counter pre-stressed, it deflects in a way to form the spline perfectly, if that makes sense.

If there is a way to control curves inside of "datum graph" using equations in another way, that would work as well.

I hope this makes sense and thanks in advance!

Curve from equation is not available in the graph creation tool. Datum curves support 3D geometry, graphs are 2D only and the from equation curve tool is a 3D construct. It is not clear from your problem statement why you need a graph feature, so try a datum curve.

If your base (reference curve) curve is planar then it is pretty easily offset in sketch mode.

Create a datum curve from equation as a feature. You can use this curve to drive derivative geometry. If you have the base curve and just need to offset it in a plane then you can use the offset tool in sketcher. If it is a non planar base curve then you will need to make some construction geometry to offset it variably in space.

I too would like more control IN the graph feature, for use downstream in features driven by the graph.  Why not use 2 curves by equations?  They don't HAVE to have a Z component, and can be planar.  I'm terrible at math, but I seem to remember maybe an alternative in the graph feature.  Perhaps using an Excel spreadsheet....  I'm not 100% sure.
