In Drafting 19 the new dimension option Connect to Text is been added to link the color of the dimension text to the color of the dimension line.
This option in always set to ON .
This is good only for customers that use the same color for text and line dimensions but is not valid for customer that use two different colors.
Consider this scenario:
The customer works with two different color for dimension lines and texts
· He need to do some modification on one dimension (add prefix / postfix or change other dimension parameters)
· He use the command WUI_CHANGE_DIM (the only one that can make different modification on the dimension at the same time)
· When He confirm the command he gets the color of the dimension reset to one color because the option Connect to text is normally set on.
· To do the works correctly the customer need to unset the option every time He use the command because this option is always set on.
If the customer use the Text TAB of the command He need to unset the option twice because it is present also in this TAB (see the picture)
For my experience the number of customer that works with two different colors on dimension are more than the other
because they want that the texts dimension became more visible respect to the lines dimension.
I think that a valid solution is a new environment default setting to select the value for this option:
ENABLE_DIM_CONNECT_TO_TEXT ON/OFF
