DXF and TIFF export suddenly very slow

Hello!

Since 3 days I have a problem with a Pro/ENGINEER machine.

On export a dxf or a tiff file, it takes about 3-4 minutes. On other machines it only takes a few seconds.

It is Pro/ENGINEER WF3.0 64-bit M120 on a Dell Precision.

Did anybody have the same effect before?

Thanks for your help!

Greetings Lars

Problem solved!

The user has an external program (ClocX.exe) always in foreground.

On deactivating that program, the export works fine!

???

Greetings Lars

I would be interested on why this issue would occur.

I can't imagine that the external app was monopolizing the CPU.
Why would an external application have this affect on Pro/E?

Is the external program was interacting with the OPEN/GL window in a way that slows the whole process down?

Your thoughts???

Google reveals that ClocX is a free program that puts a clock on your
desktop [1]. The first item in their FAQ [2] refers to it consuming a
lot of CPU time, telling me that it's a resource hungry little app. I'd
remove it from the user's PC and tell them to look at the taskbar or get
a watch. 😄

FYI - If you drag the task bar to double height, the clock shows the day
and date as well.
