Default Coordinate System

Default Coordinate System

When I make parts in the assembly mode using references to my master sketch my part usually get an odd coordinate system location. This is not the coordinate system the can be selected and toggle to display and not display it is just a little one in the middle of the screen that you see when you rotate the model. I also effects fit screen and usually offsets the part alot because of where this coordinate is. Is there some way to change where it is or is there a reason it keep showing up in odd places in each model Thanks Randy Gentry

Does it look like a red-green-blue 3-legged symbol? If so, that's called the spin center (not a c-system). It's used as a center of spinning of the 3D model. By default, it's located at the center of geometry of the model (not the center of mass). If you imagine a box enveloping the model, it would be at the center of that. You can toggle its display on and off fron an icon in the top toolbar.

You are correct. It look like you explained. Is there a way to move it. Because the spin center is always on by default and like I said when you press the fit screen button it does not zoom in on the part rather on the spin center and the part with means you have to zoom to the part manually which is very time consuming.

Something must be wrong with your part geometry that caused something like a datum feature in the part to be so far distant from the solid mass. That causes the spin center to deviate from the mass so much so when you refit the screen, the part mass appears so far away.

oh i see, I bet I know what happened. When I referenced the master sketch the reference line was a ways away from the place I sketched the model. So it must be centering itself between them. I think I know how to fix it though
