Default Lights - WF 5

Hi all,

I've been on Pro/E WF 5.0 (build M040) for about 2 weeks now and just can't get past the crappy default lighting scheme. Ever since I started using Pro/E (Version 17 UNIX) the lighting has been acceptable right out of the box. WF 5 default is all washed out looking, kind of like an over exposed photograph. If I turn off the default lights, it looks much better, but dark.

I tried copying the default light file "light.dlg" from my WF 4 version to my WF 5 version, but that didn't do the trick. WF 4 lighting was great !

BTW, I have my background color set to black "0 0 0" and I'm using Pre-Wildfire sys colors (i.e. yellow and red datum planes).

Has anyone else noticed or complained about the default lights? Is there a fix in sight for me?

Thanks,

Bob

I don't know if the default can be changed or not. I've just always used a
mapkey to change to my preferred setup. I can send you the mapkey if you
are interested.

Bob,

The attached .zip file contains my light change mapkey and a customized
light file. I believe I downloaded the light file years ago from Fawcett
designs. For the mapkey to work properly the "lights-direction.dlg" file
must be located in "C:\Temp\lights". You can then either add my mapkey text
to your own config.pro (if you have one) or create a config.pro using it.
If you have any problems or are unfamiliar with the config.pro setup let me
know and I will be happy to step you through it.

I do want to add that this mapkey has only been tested on WF4 but it should
function the same on WF5. *Note: it will not work on earlier versions of WF
due to the changes in the Open dialog box that occurred with WF4.

The key sequence for the mapkey is "li".

I know this has been asked many times before, but can Raytheon please
alter their e-mail settings so our inboxes are not filled with their
e-mail police junk sendings? It gets very wearing to have to delete so
many of the same mailings when it is totally un-necessary.

Thanks,

PLEASE!!!
