We are trying to figure out how a user was able to create a draft dimension and rename it to match a driven dimension.

Does your drawing already have an existing CREATED dim called DIM8?

You can rename created dimensions. They simply renamed it so it matched the driving dimension.

I tried that but it won't allow it.

Nice catch.  User had already renamed a dim but did not change it to @S.  Thought the user had some new trick I had not heard of.  Thanks for your help!
