Draft versus something else.

Draft versus something else.

The decision has been made to switch from a draft angle that was
previously specified to an linear dimension for the start and stop points
of the draft. If I am to continue to use shown dimensions which is our
practice here. I either need to replace the draft with a cut, or I need
to replace the driving angular dimension on the draft with linear
dimensions or reference to a datum plane controlled by a sketched curve,
which I cannot see how to do in the current version of Pro/E WF3 that we
have installed. Anyone have any ideas how to do this? Starting over
again would be a bad idea too, it would take longer and others have held
on to this change too long which is why it got dumped on me.

I guess the I could create a reference dimension in the sketched curve and
drive the value of the draft by that, but I am hoping to avoid that, as I
think it will cause problems for others in the future.

Thanks for any ideas you can lend,

Well I did the change, I put in a sketched datum curve and a reference
dimension for the angle and then drove the draft angle with a relationship
it was the most stable and least rebuilding that I had to do on the part,
so it could get done quickly.

Thanks for the advice which was mostly, use the above suggestion in some
way, or just create the dimension and move on.

Have a good day,
