Drawing convention

Say you have a cylinder with a very fine mechanical spline such that when you generate a drawing view you get a solid fill, should you leave it as is?erase the lines so you can still detail the section? suppress the feature and detail it in a seperate drawing?

Suggestions?

I'd suggest it should be simplified for clarity.

This is an ideal application for View Rep Simplify - unfortunately, they deleted that tool in the move to Wildfire. Another option is to create a family table instance with that feature suppressed, so you can use the instance for views where you don't want the detail, and use the generic when you want to show the feature in full.
