Drawing views not updating

Drawing views not updating

Does anyone know why my drawing views do not update when I make changes
to my model?

I think there's a config.pro option somewhere but I can't find it.

I saw this on my config.pro and thought that would fix it but it still
won't update.

auto_regen_views yes

In some cases, a regen in the drawing does not update the view either
and I have to physically go into at least one view and fiddle with
something (change tangent edge display and then back) just to force the
update.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

TIA,

Anne

You could try doing VIEW > UPDATE > ALL

Doug

Using Pro/E Wildfire 5...

1. EDIT, SELECT, SELECT ALL
2. VIEW, UPDATE, SELECTED

More mouse picks than any previous releases and not as intuitive either. BONUS !

Happy Friday.

Bob

Wow, double the picks.

Guess I have a lot to look forward to!

Doug

That's true if you only need to show the update for a single sheet in your drawing. If the change is shown on multiple sheets, then the method I described is the correct way to updated every view on every sheet where the change has occurred.

Good Times 🙂

I have no idea what happened and how we had it set up before but it used
to automatically update the drawing views without having to make it.

That's the option I'm looking for - no mouse clicks needed.

Any ideas how to make this functionality (automatically update drawing
view) work all the time?

Did you try "auto_regen_views yes" ?

Joe

Theres also a config option that basicly takes a snapshot of the drawings sheets
when you save.
It's to make it quicker to open large drawings, which has the same effect.
save_display I think.

This can get you into trouble as you can have a drawing up showing you the views
with old data
and not show you the geometry of thewrong model in session. Thus you save what
looks like
a good drawing to PDM but the wrong model is also save to PDM

Maybe I’m looking at the wrong thing – I’ve had issue getting assembly models to update when I make changes to components (this used to also be automatic).

Is there anything for that? How can I get the assembly to automatically update when I make component changes?

I have auto_regen_view option set to yes

I’ve tried the save_display option and that’s not what we were looking to do

I agree with you... It used to update automatically.

I believe it was Pro/E Wildfire 3 that made some change that I've never been able to get beyond. I have also tried the two options you mentioned without success. In a strange way, I actually like it better this way because I make drawings with usually 30-40 sheets each and to have it update continuously really SLOWS me down. Now I can choose when to update my drawing and which sheet(s) I desire or all sheets. The bummer is you ALWAYS need to remember to update all sheets before you do a final save of the drawing and then review everything once again.
