Drawings for different regions

Hi,

I am currently converting legacy drawings drawn using AutoCAD into 3D models and draft 2D from the 3D models.

I would like to draft these 2D in such a way that is applicable for all the regions. For example, we would like to show the annotations in Japanese if it's been accessed from Japan, or in English with metric units if it is accessed from India or in English with imperial units if it's been accessed from US.

As all the three formats use a common ".PRT"/".ASM" file, is there any recommended way to meet my requirement without the need for creating multiple ".DRW" files?

Thanks in advance.

Simple answer is NO

You would have to use different units for each sheet of the drawing, depending on which region the drawing was for, and that is not possible. Also, things like first vs third angle projection are different and that is set as the file level, not the sheet level.

Your best solution is to create each region's drawing file with the base drawing number and then append a region code to each drawing number; 123456-jpn, 123456-ind, 123456-usa, etc. I would also but some parameters in the part/assembly files that have the name of the drawing file in them. In the drawing files, I would put a note with the part/assembly that the drawing is derived from.
