Existing Screw thread library.

Hi all,

Is there a existing library inside creo that contains thread designs of imperial and metric screws. Also is there a special way to connect nuts and bolts in assembly if you are using them as mechanism for a project?

thank you for your kind help in these matter

When you create a hole, you have the option to create one of any number of thread type.

The files are located at <creo install location>\Creo 2.0\Common Files\M040\text\hole

They are text files you can open with wordpad. You can see what information is available.

When you create the hole in a part, it also creates an annotation note with much of the relevant data.

If you want a tapered hole, you need to select the Create Tapered Hole button (4th from the left once the tap button is selected), and you will also get access to the pipe thread holes.

Creo has a library of sorts, yes. It is called a hole table. These are the basic repository of common thread data to be used when defining internal threads.

As for special Mechanism considerations, no. You can write your own constraints as to how you want these to behave in a mechanism assembly.

this sounds awesome. How do I get to it ad use it?
