When making changes in large assemblies with family tables, there can be unusually long regeneration delays even for simple changes.
It seems like the delay may be caused by Creo regenerating the family table instances.
Is there a way to improve the performance?
I am already using simplified reps.
There are a number of options if you are connected to Windchill.
Load your family table objects from the Parts Library and set Library objects to be Read-Only in your workspace. This is a Windchill setting.
Then use config.pro setting: Regenerate_Read_Only Objects to No.
Thanks Ben, unfortunately(?) I do not have Windchill.
I found the config.pro option enable_auto_regen yes/no
yes is the default.
I set it to no and my initial impression is the regeneration times are greatly improved.
Hopefully it's not a placebo effect like pushing the cross walk button...
So, I'm not sure, but I think maybe?
Yes. That would work. However, if you do not auto-regenerate, you could come up with other issues. You will need to manually regenerate or your model/drawing will not be up-to-date.
