Just want to confirm with the group what I have ran into with the
GRANITE-Based Cross-Release Interoperability (-GCRI)- Functionality.
Looks like this works only on parts and assemblies. Will not work for
drawings.
The PTC hotline person was not too familiar with GCRI, but he mentioned
that to be true.
Just wanted to hear back from the user community also.

Thanks for all your help.

Granite CRI is a way for PTC to slowly infect your assemblies with their
next rev. Once enough work is at that next rev, and you need a little
more than what GCRI can give, you are stuck. You can't do much but to
upgrade. So between companies, I always ask for STEP files or use the
correct released to make Step files. And between us, I don't allow
anyone to have any version other that the one we officially release.
Financially it can be really dangerous especially if you use PDMlink.
Once you move something into PDMlink, it is locked within a few
check-ins. Can't delete, can't open, can't replace. And I'm not saying
anything about a release, I'm just saying that you really have to look
at the upgrade as a whole and include the price that it may force you to
pay later.

Alfonso
