Hi there,
I need someone who explains me that "where to store" creo_parametric_customization.ui mess.
Creo seems to use three places for that configuration file
When Creo loads creo_parametric_customization.ui from %appdata%, it then creates a copy in the working directory.
When I put creo_parametric_customization.ui in the working directory in the first place and use "load_ui_customization_run_dir yes", creo_parametric_customization.ui is ignored.
I would strongly prefer a config.pro option, where You can simply define the path to that configuration.
But unfortunately PTC overcomplicates things and try to sell this as an improvement (I really miss tree.cfg and config.win).

Creo will write the customization.ui without user confirmation and yes, it is confusing and not documented well. Not unusual to end up with multiple .ui files in many directories.
The best you can do currently to streamline it is to follow the guidance here:

It is indeed not documented well.
e.g. CS37185 says "creo_parametric_customization.ui is automatically saved to the folder path: \AppData\Roaming\PTC\ProENGINEER\Wildfire\.wf\.Settings when the UI is customized for the first time", which is not true at all.
I tried that, but Creo automatically stores a (blank) cpc.ui in the working directory.
I tried to use the "Manage UI Costumization" dialogue. But this "tool" does not make any sense.
When I tried to export my altered window configuration, it exported only the changes (no matter what checkbox was activated).
So i ended up with a cpc.ui - file, which only contained the changes.
Older configurations were gone and substituted with Creo's default behaviour.
Thanks PTC for wasting my time!
