How do i create sub-assembly?

Hi,

I would like some help with assembly i have been working on for school.

I assembled all the parts in my project the right way but then i got notified that i have to create the motor as an sub-assembly.

Now i have attached the file i have been working one. My question is how do i create a sub-assembly. I tried selecting all the components in the motor then right click and create a sub-assembly but it got all weird.  Can somebody guide and help me with this as soon as possible please?

Thanks

P.S : I'm an beginner in CREO

Ahmed,

You may try creating a sub assembly in existing assembly and move the components in that sub assembly.

Drag and Drop "Insert here" below Assembly Csys (ASM_DEF_CSYS)

Create a sub assembly

Drag "Insert here" and place at the end of model tree

Select all parts, drag and drop in sub assembly.

@ArekTRI

For standard assembly, steps are in attached video. However looking at your snapshot, it looks like an imported assembly e.g. step or iges ...

You may need to explain the requirement referring the image you attached.

Hi @Mahesh_Sharma ,

thank you for your answer,

I found the solution myself.

I don't have to explain the requirements.

You can have a STEP file imported assembly or previously created assembly - doesn't matter.

Just assemble as many new parts as you want and follow the instruction.

It simply works.

Arek

Ahmed,

When an assembly is assembled into another assembly then it becomes a sub-assembly.

So in your case you can create a new assembly with all the motor parts and then assemble this into your main assembly.

You may also use the solution mentioned by Mahesh, if you have already assembled your motor parts directly into your main assembly.
