I'm creating a new drawing template in Creo 9.0.7.0 for a project. I want to add a parameter to capture the 'released on' & 'released by' values. But it should be sourced from Windchill, not user defined. How we can do this.
Sounds like you need to set the parameters in WIndchill. Something that has to be configured by your administrator, I guess.
Using the parameters on a drawing works automatically if you *always* have a particular parameter in your part and assembly files. Otherwise, if you start a drawing that needs a parameter value for one of the text fields, and that parameter doesn't exist in the part/assembly, you'll be asked for a value.
Are you wondering how to use a parameter within text? Like with ¶m_name?
I've two parameters 'DRW_RELEASED_ON' & 'DRW_RELEASED_BY' in my creo start part with source as Windchill. We had creo 7 earlier, in which when we create a drawing, those two parameters get copied/inherited from part to drawing automatically. After our recent Creo 9 upgrade, this copy/inheritance of the parameter not happening. Is there any creo setting or config blocking it?
