How to send an assembly?

I have a 30 day trial and I am trying to send an assembly that I made to someone who has the full version of Creo. I zipped a fodler with all the parts and the assembly but when he tried to open it he couldn't because apparently these two versions of Creo are not compatible. Is there any way that I can still send him the assembly? Thanks!

I guess the first question is are you both using the same version of Creo? If the person you sent it to is using an older version, that could be the problem. Creo is not backwards compatible.

There is also the possibility that the trial version does not allow the export of files. I've never used the trial version so I'm not sure about that.

Welcome to the forum.

Also, just in case, student versions and commercial versions are not compatible either.

Thanks, Dale

Thanks James, so yeah we are both using the 2.0 version.

Trial and full versions are not necessarily the same thing. Full Creo 2.0 cannot open Academic Creo 2.0 versions, for instance.

Hi Priscilla,

What is the exact message they are seeing when they try to open your assembly? Also have them check the "Message Log" for additional messages.
