Injection Molding Parts - 3D Thickness Analysis

Hi!

Lately working on user specific requirements for thickness analysis. Especially on 3D thickness and Sectioning.

I want to know what would users prefer while calculating thickness of section.

There are typically two ways:

1) Try to fit a Sphere for 3D or have a section and try to fit a circle touching 3 points. Or try to fit largest dia

What would users prefer?

2) By Ray method draw a line from point perpendicular to face til it touches the other surface.

Want to know feedback from users designing plastic parts.

You can visit here for more information: www.geomcaliper.com

Awaiting your feedback!

Thanks,

Prashant

The sphere method is needed to calculate minimum sections for heat
treating, etc... and would be very helpful, but only in 3D.
