Linking inspection dimensions and parameters from a drawing/part to excel table

Interested if there is anyone who has tried to link an excel spreadsheet to a pro-e drawing/part. Currently I have a the rather cumbersome task of updating two excel spreadsheets (QC document and rev status document) manually everytime a change is made to a drawing/part. Changes are made often and am looking to link the spreadsheet to the inspection dimensions and parameters from the drawing so that everytime the 3D or 2D has a modification, the spreadsheet will automatically update. Seems like alot of people drive models with excel, but not sure about the other way around.

Thanks in advance,

Cole

There are third party solutions to at least part of this, if not all. InspectionXpert is one that we use and it works quite well, I would recommend it.

A solution might be built on DXF or Postscript as those link graphical element to location.
