Maximum characters of the layer name

I am using Creo Parametric Release 5.0 and Datecode5.0.4.0

Is it possibile to increase the maximum characters of the layer name?

To the best of my knowledge, such things are hard coded into the program and cannot be changed. The same as the maximum file name length, string parameter length, etc.

Layer names can have a maximum of 31 characters. This can not be increased in the Creo environment.

Do you really need more than 31 characters to name a layer?

Use numbers at the beginning of your layer names so they sort in your defined order.
