Modeling slide

Hi All,

I was wondering what is the best way to model a linear slide.

  1. You have the rail in one assembly and the carriage in a separate one ( this require blanking some part in the BOM on the drawing)
  2. You use the slide connection ( create issue when the assembly is over constrained with the creation of redundant connection)
  3. you use a flexible assembly
  4. you create a relation at the assembly level.
  5. do not constrained the carriage completly and leave it "packaged"

Any other suggestion and comment about the pro's and cons are welcome.

Nicolas

Hi Nicolas

As you can see in the PDF I constrained th 4 slide doors (bleu) with a planar connection. I never had a course in that connection but found out myself.
