Modelling a Square (Reef) Knot with 2 Wires

Hey guys, I am new to Creo and I wonder how we can model a square knot joining two wires together for FEM, just like the one in this article: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/pamm.201010081/

Thanks in advance for your help!

The geometry is not that hard, but setting up the analysis is way beyond me.

In this case, you probably need to assembly the two halves into an assembly to do the analysis, right?

For the part file, you would simply generate curves to create 1/2 the knot.

If you leave things parametric enough for simply modifications, you are miles ahead.

You can simply sweep a profile along your curve.

As you assembly a pair of this part, you can make sure that you have managed the clearances properly.

Again, how the analysis is a set up for this is beyond me.
