Orient by reference? What gets saved?

When you orient by reference and save the view, what is the view saved in relation to?

Is it the references picked? Or is it in relation to some default position?

I have never had a problem before but now I want to create standard drawings of an assembly that may rotate anywhere on a sphere and want to create stable views.

Any advice?

Hello Mike,

to create stable views, create datum planes which represent front sides of the views and use View Manager to create and save named views. This way view will only be lost if you delete datum to orient the view.

I know it's long way around but it's rock solid.
